“Original and Remake” film series at KOKI

As part of the collaboration between the Hollywood Memories project and KOKI, the “Original and Remake” film series premieres this April 23, this time featuring two versions of A Star Is Born.

It will begin with the 1976 version, starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, followed by its most recent adaptation, released in 2018, with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the lead roles.

For the opening of the series, Kathleen will offer an introduction to both films, addressing their relevance within remake practices in the film industry. She will also present her latest book, Hollywood Remaking: How Film Remakes, Sequels, and Franchises Shape Industry and Culture (2024).

The screenings will be at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, respectively. Both films will be screened in English. For more information on ticketing and directions, please visit the KOKI website.
