Hollywood Memories at the GAAS/DGfA 2025 (June 12-14)

Kathleen Loock, Alejandra Bulla, Yining Zhang, Stefan Dierkes, and Tina Pahnke of the HOLLYWOOD MEMORIES project are part of the GAAS/DGfA Meeting 2025 taking place June 12-14 in Siegen, Germany. This year will be the 71st annual conference and focuses on Archiving America/American Archives.

The GAAS/DGfA (German Association for American Studies/Deutsche Gesellschaft für Amerikastudien) is an academic non-profit organization with the goal of promoting cultural and academic relations between the United States and Germany and supporting American Studies in Germany on a scholarly basis.

Alejandra, Yining, Stefan and Tina will participate in the panel “Digital Archives and American Studies” led by Kathleen Loock, Damien Schlarb and Alexander Dunst. Using the video essay as a form, they will discuss “The Video Essay as Digital Archive: Visualizing Cinematic Memories of Disney Classics and Their Live-Action Remakes.”
